Vin Diesel Is The Reason Why Director Justin Lin Left Fast and Furious X

Vin Diesel is being blamed for Justin Lin leaving Fast X according to a new report. GameSpot reports that Justin quit Fast X over the friction between himself and Vin.

A source close to the franchise claims that Vin Diesel shows up late on set and sometimes forgets his lines.

“Diesel shows up late to the set. He doesn’t know his lines. And he shows up out of shape… no one is dissing Vin Diesel on the record, but everyone knows.”

According to GS;

It’s unlikely Lin will weigh in on such rumors, as he is still involved in the project as a producer. However, this is not the first case of Diesel and the Fast franchise running into friction. Infamously, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson also quit after years of feuding with Diesel–as far back as in 2016 on the then-upcoming Fast & Furious 8, Johnson posted an Instagram post seemingly throwing shade against Diesel without naming him specifically. By 2021, Johnson said their feud has ended.

Fast X recently began production. In addition to Diesel, most of the rest of the cast is expected back, including Diesel himself, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, and Sung Kang, but John Cena hasn’t confirmed his return yet. Brie Larson and Jason Momoa are franchise newcomers. The movie opens in May 2023.

This is Justin Lin’s statement when leaving Fast X;

“With the support of Universal, I have made the difficult decision to step back as the director of Fast X, while remaining with the project as a producer. Over 10 years and five films, we have been able to shoot the best actors, the best stunts, and the best damn car chases. On a personal note, as the child of Asian immigrants, I am proud of helping to build the most diverse franchise in movie history. I will forever be grateful to the amazing cast, crew, and studio for their support, and for welcoming me into the Fast family.”
