ABC News is getting slammed on social media over a disrespectful tweet about Marion Barber’s death. Apparently, NFL fans aren’t happy about how ABC reported Barber’s death and now, the outlet is catching the heat on Twitter.
According to Side Action;
In the wake of the Marion Barber passing, one news outlet was getting heat for their way of breaking the news.
“JUST IN: Marion Barber III, the former Dallas Cowboys running back who scored plenty of touchdowns without recording a 1,000-yard season, has died, the team said Wednesday. He was 38,” ABC News tweeted out.
Marion Barber was receiving plenty of tributes from former teammates and coaches after his passing.
“I am truly heartbroken to hear the incredibly sad news of Marion Barber’s passing. He was a rare guy! Marion played the game with such passion! He had a deep-down love for football and it showed in everything that he did!” former coach Jason Garrett tweeted.
Obviously, ABC’s bizarre tweet should have been deleted by now. But unfortunately, we see news outlets posting these disrespectful messages after many deaths around the world of sports.
This was such a terrible tweet I don’t even know how to describe it.
My question is what did the social media person who tweeted think when he did this? Did you really think anyone cared if Barber had rushed for 1000 yards in a season?
What is wrong with these people handling the social media accounts of these major news organizations this is insanity.
I am not surprised though because black lives don’t mean a lot to mainstream media. They have proven that time and time again and this was just another example of that.
RIP to Marion Barber III and thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
