Terrell Owens has reacted to DeSean Jackson exposing Donovan McNabb over 2009 Pro Bowl comments via Total Pro Sports;
DeSean Jackson has been going viral over his comments about McNabb during a recent appearance on the I Am Athlete podcast. Jackson claimed he heard McNabb tell Michael Vick that he didn’t think the wideout deserved a dual selection to the 2009 Pro Bowl.
“When the ballots came out and they found out that I was the first player in NFL history to get elected to start in the Pro Bowl for two positions, my starting quarterback tells Michael Vick, ‘Damn, I don’t think he should’ve got that. He shouldn’t have deserved that,’” Jackson said.
The dynamic playmaker, who’s currently a free agent after splitting the 2021 season between the Los Angeles Rams and Las Vegas Raiders, said he never addressed the remarks with McNabb.
His comments led one fan to say the quarterback “was always jealous of other players getting the spotlight,” claiming he “couldn’t handle” Owens’ popularity during their 2004 and 2005 seasons together.
Owens agreed with that.
“Facts!!! Media, Front office, they all had his back for whatever reason,” Owens wrote. “Right is right, wrong is wrong. Doesn’t matter who you are. He got management not to bring me back but still didn’t stop me from producing on the next team.”
In the end, T.O. was right and McNabb was protected by media.
If T.O. and McNabb would shake hands and end their beef after the fight, I would be 100% behind them getting in the ring to finally settle the score.
T.O. has always believed that McNabb was the driving force behind him being suspended from the Eagles and costing them another chance at the Super Bowl.
T.O. believes that McNabb was jealous at all the love that Owens got in Philly and worked behind the scenes to get him out of there. Multiple Eagles players from that era have sided with TO on this.
The fact remains they were never as good apart as they were together, and if they could have set their differences aside, maybe they would have won a Super Bowl.
