Footage of fake Klay Thompson being given access into the Chase center by security officers and also practicing on the court has hit the web. The fake Klay Thompson has been identified as Dawson Gurley and he’s a YouTuber via TPS;
“Fake Klay Thompson” has been banned for life from the Chase Center after he made it onto the court prior to Monday night’s Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
Fake Klay is well known as Dawson Gurley, a YouTuber, and he somehow got past security and into the arena. He would eventually be found and banned for life.
He has since dropped the behind-the-scenes footage that will surely get some security members reprimanded or fired from their jobs at the Chase Center.
According to Gurley, he never actually claimed to be Thompson at the arena. He says he talked to security and walked through metal detectors before making his way into authorized parts of the arena.
Gurley has now received a lifetime ban from the Chase Center and the team’s G League Arena in Santa Cruz, according to SF Gate.
He outsmarted the security but got busted and banned in the end. Here is how he said it went down.
At game 5 and Warriors just banned me for life from their arena.
I was banned because I walked pass 5 layers of security guards (who willingly let me through security without asking for ID) & shot around on the court for 10 minutes. I also spent 10K on tickets which they are not refunding. Why should I be banned because their security is incompetent?
Technically, I did not trespass. I talked to security, went through metal detectors, and walked right into the building. They welcomed me with open arms. I also never claimed to be Klay.
Was it worth it to lose 10K on tickets and be banned for life? Absolutely. I was an NBA player for 10 minutes bro.
