G.I. Jane star Demi Moore has reacted to people talking about her bald appearance. According to her, despite Will Smith going mad and slapping Chris Rock about the same bald head joke, she isn’t disturbed about these jokes and opinions about her bald appearance.
According to Animated Times;
The bald G.I. Jane jokes are probably more popular among the gen z (courtesy to the Oscars, Chris Rock, Will Smith, and the one who shall not be named) than the 1997 movie itself, but even back then, it was a big deal when Demi Moore shaved her head to portray the US lieutenant. Moore’s look was quite a head-turner back then due to its unconventionality. However, she claims that now it would be close to impossible to convince her for changing her hair.
The things we do for youth… Well, Moore is clearly in no mood to be as adventurous as she once was, anymore, as far as her hair is concerned. In her own words, she’d have to be really “hard-pressed” to change her hair. As reported by aceshowbiz.com, the actress said,
“I think now that I’m older, I also know, I don’t have anything to prove. So if they really need my hair different, they can give me a wig. It’s also not as clear how it would grow back!”
Keeping her hair long is also a way to defy stereotypes for Moore. She said,
“I remember hearing someone say that when women get older, they shouldn’t have long hair. And something about that stuck with me. Like who says? It made me feel like, well, if it can grow and it’s not unhealthy, then why shouldn’t we? I’m not comfortable with rules that don’t seem to have any real meaning or justification.
Meanwhile, Will Smith is doing hostage videos about how it isn’t Jada’s fault and taking all the blame.
