A wild rumor spread throughout the NFL world over the weekend involving Zach Wilson and one of his mother’s best friends.
After quietly breaking up with long-time girlfriend Abbey Gile sometime toward the end of his rookie season, news surfaced that BYU teammate and close friend Dax Milne — who was drafted by the Washington Commanders — is now dating Wilson’s ex after an Instagram post.
That led to Gile being labeled a “homie hopper” by a commenter, sparking a response that accused Wilson of “sleeping with his mom’s best friend.”
On Sunday night, DK Metcalf of the Seattle Seahawks quote tweeted former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson, who made the claim “Zach Wilson is the goat.”
Metcalf who first retweeted the GOAT statement before voicing: “Confirmed.” Teammate Elijah Moore quote tweeted Johnson as well, writing “no cap!”
Former Jets cornerback Eric Crocker even weighed in, noting that “Wilson took TWO BYU cheerleaders to his high school senior prom.” He added: “You should already know how he’s coming.”
Wilson’s mom hasn’t denied that Zach slept with her friend.
“In the video that spans nearly 30 minutes, Lisa is seen in a kitchen elaborating on the threat of online predators, detailing how an apparent incident hit close to home.
I had reached a point in my life that I thought I had mastered parenting,” Lisa captioned the video, later adding, “I thought I had done all the things to teach her to recognize danger. I thought I had blocked her from outside influences and I mean she was my kid, so even if someone got in, she knew what to do. I was wrong. I completely underestimated the degree of evil that was possible, in a little electronic device, I personally placed in my baby girls hand.”
Lisa then expressed gratitude regarding “a mothers intuition,” noting “the outcome could have been much worse.”
“Believe me, I know life is much easier to just look the other way and pretend that you raised them so damn good, you have nothing to worry about. But unfortunately, Satan is smarter than you are,” she continued. “Who’s going to take back the power of your title? You are the parent. You make the rules.”
