Charles Barkley is ready to leave NBA on TNT and join the Saudi-backed LIV golf tour, but on a condition, and the condition is that if they triple the amount of money he rakes in a year between TNT and sponsorships. According to him, he makes $20 million and that he won’t waste time leaving NBA if it’s tripled via TPS;
The NBA all-time great told Dan Patrick this Monday morning he makes $20 million a year through his various roles for Turner Sports.
“Well, consider how much money I make now, it would take a really huge number for me to give up my life right now,” Barkley told Patrick.
Patrick asked Chuck how he’d respond if LIV decided to triple his income and that was all it took for Barkley to pounce on it.
“If they triple it, and next time I’m on your show, the first question better be, ‘Charles, where we celebrating at tonight?’” Barkley said.
“That should be your first question, that should be your first question if they triple what I’m making now. Your first question should be, ‘Hey, Charles, where’s the party tonight?’”
Barkley leaving NBA on TNT would hurt a lot as fans have been accustomed to seeing him, Shaq, Ernie, and Kenny make us laugh and learn at the same time for years.
My math is a little shaky, but that means he wants $60 million a year to go work for the LIV Golf Tour.
That Saudi money is unlimited, so don’t be shocked if they offer it to him and he ends up leaving TNT. Barkley has already said he would murder a family member for the right amount of cash, so you can’t be shocked that he would leave TNT for the biggest bag of his career.
