We are finally getting to hear from the Nets’ Kyrie Irving.
He’s had a very interesting offseason where it was announced that he wanted out of Brooklyn and didn’t want to opt into his contract for next season, which he ultimately did. It was then reported that he wanted to stay with the Nets the whole time.
The NBA All-Star hasn’t spoken on the matter at all, though, so we don’t know what he was thinking or if he wanted out of Brooklyn or not.
But now, he will be talking, and who knows what we’ll get. It’ll be on Uninterrupted’s The Shop. In a preview for the newest episode featuring him and Idris Elba, Kyrie talks about playing in Lebron James and Kevin Durant’s shadow, saying:
Playing with ‘Bron and playing with KD, within our culture they are true icons, but I had to fill in those shoes that were very uncomfortable for me,” Irving said.
Whether he’ll talk about this offseason remains to be seen, but we’re sure to get some good content from him.
Meanwhile, KD is hanging out with Drake.
Drake, J. Cole, Kevin Durant and Popcaan certainly know how to have a good time, especially when on the water in a tropical destination.
The superstar friend group was recently in Turks & Caicos, whipping around on jet skis in the crystal clear water.
Popcaan appears to be a new addition to the crew, but the Jamaican artist’s next album #GIHE (Great Is He) is set to come out on Drake’s OVO Sound label and he got really acquainted with the bros … feasting on giant lobsters in between spa pampering and nighttime partying.
The vacation looked fruitful … Cole is preparing to put on his CEO hat to oversee Ari Lennox’s next album, and KD looked comfortable soaking up the sun as he heads back to Brooklyn next season after all trade talks fell through.
Kyrie has been working hard in the offseason so we will see if the Nets can make a run at NBA Finals and if Ben Simmons will actually play this season.
