There is a video of a University of Georgia fan and an Oregon fan trading blows out there, and it’s wild. The Georgia fan punched the hat straight off the Oregon fan’s head from the video. It was a brutal fight via Side Action;
The University of Georgia Bulldogs destroyed the Oregon Ducks over this past weekend, 49-3. It was quite the shellacking. Things got a little testy in the concourse where some Georgia fans had a fight with what appears to be an Oregon fan decked out in black. Or maybe it’s another Georgia fan, I mean who really knows a fan’s allegiance. All we know is that a female Ducks fan picked up the guy’s hat as he fought it out with the other guys.
The hat flying off on the punch is something you don’t see everyday. At this point we’ve seen so many of these fan fights, it’s really hard to remember any of them, so the hat will be a nice marker to remember this one.
Overall, it was a pretty weak fight, very low energy, possibly the result of the game getting out of hand early. Just imagine the energy in this fight if this game wasn’t such a blowout. This early in the season it’s not a good sign to be going through this stuff in slow-motion. Only the guy in the Kirby Smart visor seemed ready for this and even he ended up on the ground. Georgia fans clearly have a lot to work on.
Oregon lost two fights on the same night.
No. 3 Georgia dismantled No. 11 Oregon 49-3 on Saturday in its first game since taking home the College Football Playoff National Championship in January. Stetson Bennett IV was 25 of 31 for 368 yards and two touchdowns on the afternoon, including 154 yards in the first quarter to set the tone for the game. He found nine different receivers and tossed two touchdowns — one to Ladd McConkey in the second quarter and another to Adonai Mitchell in the third quarter — in what was the most complete performance of his career.
The Bulldogs scored touchdowns on each of their first seven drives, including rushing scores by Ladd McConkey, Bennett and Kenny McIntosh, before Oregon was able to kick a field goal early in the second quarter to get on the board for the only time on Saturday.
Every one of Georgia’s touchdown drives were 56 or more yards with the longest being a seven-play, 92-yard trip that ended on the first play of the second quarter. The 49-3 score was the largest margin of victory in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game, eclipsing Alabama’s 42-3 win over Duke to open the 2019 season.
Oregon quarterback Bo Nix was erratic all afternoon in his Ducks debut. He completed 21 of 37 passes for 173 yards and threw two first-half interceptions that dug a hole from which the Ducks simply couldn’t dig themselves out.
