French Basketball Player Steeve Ho You Fat’s Name Goes Viral on Social Media

What a name! I couldn’t hold my laughter when I first saw the name written on the back of his jersey. Some Twitter folks are predicting that his jersey could be the highest-selling jersey of all time because of his wild surname.

The name is “Ho You Fat”. Larry Brown Sports got more;

One basketball player drew widespread attention among hoops fans on Tuesday night due to his name.

ESPN2 aired a game between the G League Ignite and Metropolitans 92, which is a team that plays in France’s highest-tier league. The game was billed as a showcase between Scoot Henderson and Victor Wembanyama, who are among the top prospects for the 2023 NBA Draft

But it was another player who stole the show on social media.

The Metropolitans have a player named Steeve Ho You Fat. That’s not some sort of And1 Mixtape Tour nickname either. That’s his real name.

Ho You Fat is a 34-year-old forward from Cayenne, French Guiana. He is in his second season with the Metros and averaging 2.7 points per game this season.

I am surprised no one has been canceled for saying his name during the game.

The funny thing is this is exactly how it is pronounced too. So you literally have to say “HO YOU FAT” every time he hits a three.

Steeve Ho You Fat (born 12 June 1988) is a French professional basketball player who plays for Metropolitans 92 in LNB Pro A.

He was born in French Guiana, and began his basketball career with Cholet Basketball in 2008. After an exhibition game against the G League Ignite in 2022, Ho You Fat went viral due to his last name which resembles an insulting slang phrase in English.

The only real question is how did it take us so long to find this man and his crazy name.
