After being lashed out on the internet over his comment about Kanye West’s dead mother, Willie D is here to address the post via Vlad;
Previously, Willie D of the Geto Boys took to Instagram to speak on Kanye West, mentioning his mother in the process. Willie offered his take on what he thinks happened to Donda West, saying she took her own life after realizing “she had raised a self-loathing coconut.” Now, Willie D has posted a video addressing the backlash he’s faced since posting his comments.
Via Instagram, the rapper and podcast host said Kanye West fans “tried to bully me for saying what I said, but when Kanye West wore the ‘White Lives Matter’ shirt,” he was praised as a “free thinker.”
Willie D then said he considered what was said to him by fans who were upset over his statement and apologized for posting the comment. He then said, “What I should have said is f**k all y’all. No more talk.”
Here is how Kanye’s mom died.
On November 10, 2007, West died at age 58. In January 2008, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said that she had died of coronary artery disease and multiple post-operative factors from cosmetic surgery. Authorities in Los Angeles launched an investigation into her death after learning the doctor who operated on her had convictions for alcohol-related offenses and at least two major malpractice settlements.
Kanye West played his first concert following the funeral at the O2 Arena in London on November 22. He dedicated a performance of “Hey Mama”, as well as a cover of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin'”, to his mother, and did so on all other dates of his Glow in the Dark tour.
I know Kanye is stirring up many emotions right now, but let’s keep his deceased mother out of the conversation.
