Boxer Azea Augustama Arrested After Planning Miami Gym Mass Shooting After Purchasing AK-47

I keep saying that it’s time the United States takes a critical look at its gun laws, but it seems no one cares. Every now and then, someone gets shot, and yet nothing is done about it.

According to reports, one Haitian boxer named Azea Augustama who competed at the 2008 Beijing Olympics has been busted after threatening on social media to shoot members of a gym he used to attend.

NBC-2 got the details;

Azea Augustama, known as the “Haitian Hitman,” faces two counts of making written threats to commit a mass shooting and one count of making a written threat to kill or cause bodily harm.

Augustama had his membership revoked at the BOXR Gym located in Miami on November 11th. Following a verbal altercation with one of the employees, police were called and Augustama was removed from the facility for trespassing.

Eleven days later, on November 22nd, around nine in the morning, Augustama contacted the police and was planning on returning to the gym to retrieve personal belongings.

On the same day, Augustama began making multiple threats on Instagram, where he was threatening to shoot employees at the gym.

One post included a picture of Majory Stoneman Douglas High School shooter Nikolas Cruz. It included a rundown of the order he was planning on shooting employees of the gym, including he was “willing to shoot with a actual gun or bazoka for righteousness sake.”

Augustama also sent a picture message to one victim, stating they were first when he purchased a gun.

Still, on November 22nd, around 1:00 p.m., Augustama drove to a pawn shop, where he placed a deposit of $150 to purchase an AK-47.

Police were made aware of the threats and were able to find Augustama and apprehend him.

Augustama was born in Haiti but trained and fought out of Miami. Following a bronze medal in the 2008 Americas olympics qualifies, he would earn the right to represent Haiti in the Beijing Olympics, where he would lose in the opening round.

He has a career record of 18 wins and two decision losses.
