Ed Lover On How The Nets Demands For Kyrie Irving’s Return Are Similar To Buck Breaking

There have been lots of opinions on the Kyrie Irving situation, and one of the things lots of people agree on is that the Nets went too far with their terms for his return to the team.

Kyrie posted a link to a movie deemed to have antisemitic tropes that caused a huge mess. The Nets suspended him and gave him a list of demands he had to complete for him to return to the team; not too many people were happy with it.

Many people compared it to buck breaking, which is something slave owners used to do to their slaves.

TV personality Ed Lover agrees with that. In an interview with VladTV, Lover says that he doesn’t like a thing that Kyrie is antisemitic and thinks the penalty was excessive and it was like buck breaking.

The Nets have announced that Kyrie is set to rejoin the team this Sunday, so we’ll see how things turn out shortly.

Suspended All-Star guard Kyrie Irving is nearing completion on the process needed for a return to play and could rejoin the Brooklyn Nets as soon as Sunday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies at Barclays Center, sources told ESPN.

Sources said that Irving missed his eighth consecutive game on Thursday night in Portland, but he is closing in on end to his suspension after nearly two weeks.

“Kyrie is continuing his journey of dialogue and education,” National Basketball Players Association executive director Tamika Tremaglio told ESPN on Wednesday night. “He has been grappling with the full weight of the impact of his voice and actions, particularly in the Jewish community. Kyrie rejects antisemitism in any form, and he’s dedicated to bettering himself and increasing his level of understanding. He plans to continue this journey well into the future to ensure that his words and actions align with his pursuit of truth and knowledge.”
