Nebraska just hired Matt Rhule.
There was some hope that he would keep on Joseph, but that looks like a long shot now.
On Wed, Nov 30 @ 1:54pm LPD was dispatched to a home near S 34th & Tree Line Drive on a domestic disturbance. Upon concluding the investigation, Robert ‘Mickey’ Joseph, age 54 of Lincoln, was arrested for Strangulation and 3rd Degree Domestic Assault. He was lodged in jail.
While we wait on more details, here is what Rhule said about Joseph.
Matt Rhule was asked about if he is thinking about bringing back Mickey Joseph on his staff at Monday’s press conference. It looks like Rhule may be considering it after Joseph’s run as interim HC.
Rhule stated that the first he wants to focus on is getting in contact with all the players now that he’s at Nebraska.
However, Rhule is planning on talking to Joseph at some point and is looking forward to doing so again. Rhule revealed that he actually talked to Joseph shortly after getting the job.
“I reached out to Mickey right when I got the job, looking forward to talking with him at some point here. I’ll try to be thorough with that process over the next couple of days. The most important thing to me right now is the current players. I need to sit down and talk to them.”
“To me it all comes down to fit, people have to want to be here No. 1,” said Rhule. “They have to want to be in the role they’re in, and we have to all move forward.”
Many Huskers fans will be hoping that Joseph is going to remain in Lincoln.
Hopefully, Joseph has a good defense for why he was arrested for allegedly strangling someone and being arrested for it.
