Atlanta rapper J Money was reportedly shot and robbed of his jewelry while sitting in a Rolls-Royce that allegedly belonged to a member of the Korean Royal family.
Jermaine Miller, also known as J Money, was sitting outside of a luxury apartment building in the Koreatown section of Los Angeles around 4:20 PM when the incident took place. Police say the victim was shot and robbed of three chains along with his Rolex while sitting in a Rolls-Royce Phantom owned by Andrew Lee.
Paramedics on the scene said Miller was breathing and conscious. However, the rapper was taken to the hospital and was in critical condition. Police say two male suspects were behind the crime and fled the scene following the shooting and robbery.
Who is J Money?
CLAPD officials said the victim — aged between 25 and 30 years old — was shot and robbed of his Rolex and three chains while sitting inside a Rolls-Royce Phantom owned by entrepreneur and Korean royal, Andrew Lee.
Hollywood Unlocked has identified the victim as Atlanta rapper J Money (real name Jermaine Miller). According to officials, Miller was conscious and breathing upon the arrival of paramedics at the scene. It was later reported he was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Police believe two male suspects were involved, both of whom fled the scene of the crime after the robbery and shooting took place. An investigation has been launched but no arrests have been made at this time.
It’s not yet understood why J Money (aka SauceGod) was in Lee’s car, but it appears the two know one another, with Lee — who also raps under the name KingLee — featuring on J’s latest track, “Dun It All,” which was released on October 28.
As for J Money, he’s the rapper formerly known as J Futuristic who has worked with the likes of Migos, Shawty Lo, Young Buck, Soulja Boy, Boosie Badazz, Young Dolph, Zaytoven and more.
Back in June, J Money posted a video from a hospital bed thanking fans for their support while he was battling cancer. “ALL THE CANCER OUT LOVE YALL NOW 2 weeks of recovery,” he captioned his video.
