ABC Plans To Keep Amy Robach And Her Lover T.J. Holmes Off ‘GMA’ Indefinitely

Amy Robach’s affair with TJ Holmes is a distraction to “Good Morning America” show, and since ABC does not want distractions, they’ve decided to keep the disgraced couple off “GMA” and off the air while investigations are ongoing.

According to Decider;

Good Morning America reportedly plans to keep T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach off air after pulling the co-anchors from their show, GMA3, when reports of their alleged affair surfaced. Holmes and Robach, who were first removed from the daytime program in early December, won’t be coming back any time soon, according to a report from The Daily Mail.

The outlet obtained a memo that reportedly came from ABC News exec Kim Godwin in which she allegedly told staffers that the relationship between Holmes and Robach was a “distraction,” beginning, “As we start this new week together, I want to take a moment to address the on-going matter involving GMA3 anchors T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach.”

“I understand that the continuing coverage can be distracting from the incredibly important work our team does here at ABC News,” the memo reads, per The Daily Mail. “Amy and T.J. will remain off-air pending the completion of an internal review, and there will be a rotation of anchors at GMA3 for the time being.”

It continues, “It is my hope that we will all continue to focus our energy on what we do best, and I want all of you to know how immensely proud I am of your hard work and professionalism.”

Since Holmes and Robach left, the show has been replacing them with alternate anchors, including Stephanie Ramos and Gio Benitez, who previously co-hosted the program with GMA3‘s Dr. Jen Ashton.

The alleged affair between the co-anchors has been the buzz of daytime TV for weeks now, with prominent figures like Gayle King weighing in. King, who hosts her own CBS show, told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Livethat she thinks the situation at the network is “interesting,” before adding, “it’s gotten very messy and very sloppy.”

“The more you read, it’s just very messy and I think it’s just a sad situation because you’ve got kids involved. You’ve got families involved. I keep thinking about that. Yeah, I’m very concerned about that,” King said at the time.
