In a trending video, Deion Sanders told the Colorado team to prepare for something new and also let them know that those who aren’t ready or prepared can get out because he’s bringing change.
TPS got the details;
Sanders is taking over as head coach at Colorado, bringing his charisma and larger-than-life persona to the Pac-12 program that has become a laughing stock over the years. The deal was announced Saturday night by CU athletic director Rick George.
The Pro Football Hall of Famer has been at Jackson State since 2020. Sanders has guided the Tigers to consecutive Southwestern Athletic Conference titles.
Upon arriving in Colorado, he told the players on the roster that he was bringing his own luggage and that they can hit the transfer portal if they wanted to.
Sanders may be gone from Jackson State, but he will coach them in the Celebration Bowl for historically Black colleges on Dec. 17 in Atlanta against Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference champion North Carolina Central.
The Tigers went 27-5 in the Sanders era and he was named SWAC coach of the year the last two seasons.
Colorado is a long way from its glory days whey won a national championship following the 1990 season.
The Southern Band decided to troll Sanders on his way out.
Reports started coming in a day before the SWAC Championship Game that Jackson State coach Deion Sanders was taking the Colorado job. That was more than enough to add fuel to the halftime fire of the SWAC title game.
Jackson State had a 33-10 lead at the half, but Southern had something to smile about after the band announcer trolled Jackson State about Sanders’ departure for Colorado.
“Two-four-six-eight let’s get country like Jackson State,” the announcer said. “Hey Jackson, it sounds like you have to get ready to find a new head coach. How come your coach don’t want you no more? I told y’all he wasn’t SWAC. Coach Prime is about to be big balling.”
