The Nets have quietly crept up to the 4th seed in the East, and no one is talking about it.
They probably prefer it that way because they weren’t really playing well when people were talking about them. Now though, they are getting healthy and have found a rhythm that makes them look like they’re getting closer to being contenders.
However, there are still people that think they are worried about the offseason, if Kyrie Irving will be there after this season, and if Kevin Durant will ask to be traded again.
Even so, reports are starting to pop up again about who could be the team that trades for him. According to NBA insider Eric Pincus, the Nets are making sure they can do everything they can to make KD happy, so he doesn’t make another trade request. Still, he says if he makes another trade request, the Raptors are the team who could land his services because they may have the best combination of picks and players.
The Raptors do have a lot they could offer, but they probably aren’t the team best equipped to trade for KD, given the fact that they’d be giving up the bulk of their talent to get him, which would make a move a little pointless. Teams like the Pelicans, Thunder, Celtics, Cavs, and Warriors are more equipped to land the future HOF.
At the moment, the Nets are living in harmony. If they can keep the distractions to a minimum, they will have a shot at the NBA Finals. It is a long season to go through, and anything can happen. Hopefully, we can keep writing excellent stories about Kyrie like this.
