If you ever wondered what it was like having lots of soccer fans upset with you, just look at Salt Bae’s IG comments after the World Cup Final.
After Argentina’s incredible win over France, Salt Bae somehow made his way onto the pitch and was a part of all of the festivities. Except, he wasn’t supposed to be.
During the celebration, he tried to get Lionel Messi’s attention by grabbing him a few times, and Messi, who was trying to celebrate with his teammates and family, didn’t seem to like it too much. They eventually got a picture together that ended up on Salt Bae’s IG.
However, to make things worse, he took pics with the $21.5 million 18-carat World Cup trophy that only former World Cup winners and heads of state are supposed to touch.
Celebrity butcher and restaurateur Nusret Gökçe, known as Salt Bae, apparently left a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouths after he surrounded Argentina’s soccer team on the field after their win.
Gökçe was captured in several videos posted on social media posing and eagerly taking photos and videos with the Argentine players moments after winning the World Cup title after defeating France in a penalty shootout.
The restaurateur was also captured holding the World Cup trophy in videos online, and in a photo he posted on his Instagram account on Monday. One video showed Gökçe grabbing Argentina team captain Lionel Messi by the arm as the soccer star tried walking away — although the famous butcher posted another clip on his Instagram Story on Monday that showed Messi shaking his hand.
It apparently wasn’t the first time the soccer star met Gökçe; in 2018 the butcher was captured preparing a steak for Messi in a YouTube video.
Again, fans weren’t too happy with him and made sure to let him know.
