It looks like Joe Mixon is in the clear. Mixon is facing the misdemeanor charge of aggravated menacing after a woman claimed he pointed a gun at her saying;
“You should be popped in the face, I should shoot you, the police can’t get me.”
According to TPS;
An arrest warrant was issued Thursday for running back Joe Mixon. Court documents said Mixon threatened a woman with a gun last month. The woman alleges that Mixon pointed the firearm at the victim.
The warrant states the incident occurred one day before the Bengals defeated the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs.
He faces the misdemeanor charge of aggravated menacing.
Bengals beat reporter Kelsey Conway reached out to Mixon for comment, but his mom answered and had a fiery response to the allegations.
“Did he do it, no he didn’t.”
Mixon’s agent said the charges would be dropped and that looks like it is going to happen.
The request to drop the charge against Joe Mixon is coming from the city prosecutors office. Hamilton County Municipal Court Presiding Judge Curt Kissinger tells Newsradio 700 WLW that he will dismiss it but only after he is sure that the alleged victim in the case has been notified. The reason that the prosecutor asked for dismissal has not been given but the agent for Mixon has said that police rushed to judgement in the case that reportedly involved a road rage incident downtown. The agent says cops should be held to a higher standard and shouldn’t be playing with peoples lives and reputations like that. The aggravated menacing charge was brought after a woman said Mixon pulled a gun on her and threatened her at 3rd and Walnut. It isn’t clear if she has recanted that claim or if a private settlement was worked out between the parties.
Mixon’s mom claims it was a money grab by the woman.
