There is an update on teams interested in signing free-agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. According to Jordan Schultz of theScore, the Buffalo Bills have also shown interest in signing Odell Beckham via TPS;
A top AFC team is reportedly interested in veteran wide receiver and free agent Odell Beckham Jr.
According to a report from Jordan Schultz of theScore, the Buffalo Bills are among the teams who have “checked in on” the 30-year-0ld wideout. Schultz added that Beckham had dinner at the home of Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen.
Beckham suffered a torn ACL in the Los Angeles Rams’ Super Bowl 56 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Beckham missed most of the 2022 season recovering from injury, and though several teams had interest in signing him for the final stretch, Beckham wound up going unsigned.
The Bills have one of football’s best wide receivers in Stefon Diggs, but they’ve had the need for a quality No. 2 receiver over the last three years. Beckham, a five-time 1,000-yard wideout, would certainly fit that bill.
Beckham was released by the Cleveland Browns in the midst of the 2021 season, and he wound up signing with the Rams. Beckham hauled in 27 receptions for 305 yards and five touchdowns in eight regular season games.
In four playoff games for the Rams, Beckham caught 21 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns.
The Bills entered the 2022 season as the favorites to win Super Bowl 57, but they were eliminated by the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Divisional Round. A year earlier, the Bills were eliminated by the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round.
For his career, Beckham has 531 receptions for 7,367 yards and 56 touchdowns.
Teams are definitely interested in Beckham. They just want him to come down off his asking price. He wants more than $4 million a year and likely wants more guarantees, and most teams are just looking for a one-year deal with no guarantees after this season.
#Bills have also checked in on Odell Beckham, Jr., source says. There’s been real interest in the past – inc dinner at Josh Allen’s house, so this isn’t a surprise. The price would have to make sense, but Buffalo is worth monitoring as another potential OBJ suitor. @theScore pic.twitter.com/1pA0X1ZDRI
