Michael B. Jordan Confirms CREED IV is Happening; What Should Be The Next Logical Step For Adonis in The Franchise

This will contain minor spoilers for the ending of CREED III, so if you haven’t seen the movie yet, I suggest you stop now and come back and read this after you watch the movie.

At the end of the movie, Adonis has come out of a three-year retirement and defeated Damian Anderson to regain the world’s heavyweight championship. The film doesn’t tell you if Adonis plans to keep fighting or if this was a one-shot and he will relinquish the belts.

When asked if this was the franchise’s ending and Adonis’ journey wasn’t over, Jordan said no.

“I just want to expand the Creed-verse within reason, but definitely expect other things around Creed for sure.”

This begs the question, where should the franchise go next?

There are a lot of possibilities that could work. Adonis could take on a young apprentice the way Rocky took him on. If I were in charge, I would bring Jonathan Majors back in some capacity as Damian because he brought so much to the role. It shouldn’t be a one-off.

In the movie, Damian is seconds away from beating Adnois, so it wouldn’t be far fetch if there is a time jump that Damian is the heavyweight champion if Adonis went back into retirement.

There is still the lingering rumor that Deontay Wilder could be brought in a Clubber Lang’s son to add some nostalgia to the mix. While we spoke about how CREED III is an excellent movie without Sly Stallone, but having him back in the franchise would be a welcome addition.

One out there rumor I heard is that there will be a BIG time jump, and Adonis’ daughter will be interested in women’s boxing, and that could be an interesting storyline considering she is deaf.

The good news is that the franchise is looking strong and seems to improve as it goes along.
