Michael Irvin’s lawyer has finally seen the video of the interaction because of a white female Marriott employee and Irvin.
According to the lawyer, all it shows is a brief conversation and a couple of handshakes before Irvin goes to his room alone. Multiple witnesses have come forward to say they saw the interaction, and at no time did the woman look in distress or they saw anything inappropriate.
Irvin himself compared it to what happened to black men during the slavery days via TMZ.
Irvin, meanwhile, was present at the press conference — and he did speak to media members … calling the whole ordeal “sickening.”
“This takes me back to a time where a white woman would accuse a Black man of something and they would take a bunch of guys that were above the law, run in the barn, put a rope around his foot and drag him through the mud and hang him by the tree,” he said.
Irvin — who later broke down in tears while the witnesses recounted their memories of the evening — added that he has still yet to see the video of his encounter with his accuser.
As for if the footage will ever be made public, McCathern filed another motion in court on Wednesday morning to get Marriott to turn over copies ASAP.
This seems to be a situation that at best was a misunderstanding and at worse just a woman outright lying to try to extort Irvin. Your whole career shouldn’t be snatched away from you for a minute interaction where nothing inappropriate took place.
Irvin says he is rethinking how he deals with people in public now; frankly, that is the case for most celebrities and even regular people. You have to be careful what you say and do because people will stab you in the back and the front.
Flip the pages for Irving to get emotional.
