Jalen Rose has spoken about Ja Morant flashing a gun during live Instagram. This is what emotional Jalen Rose said while touching on the issue;
“I am Ja Morant… I’ve been involved in drug raids, I’ve survived assassination attempts. I’ve been that undisciplined young person that was trying to figure out how to be famous, how to be successful and how to change the dynamics of my family… He’s gonna return, and he’s gonna be a better person.”
Grizzlies coach also had this to say concerning Ja’s return to the court following his gun incident via the New York Post;
“We’re taking it one day at a time,” Jenkins told reporters on Sunday before the Grizzlies face the Clippers. “There’s no definitive timeline… It’s really not a timetable situation.”
Morant in a statement also had this to say;
“I’m sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis and the entire organization for letting you down,” the statement read. “I’m going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being.”
According to Taylor Jenkins;
“He understands he’s made some difficult decisions and poor choices. He understands he’s got to get help to get to a better place, not just for himself but for his team”
The cops are now involved in the situation, and there is also a possibility that Morant could be suspended 50 games by the NBA, which likely would end any chance at the Grizzlies winning the title this year even though they are currently the #2 seed in the West.
Morant has to make a decision on where he wants to go from here as a person. It is ok to have fun and live your life but do so in a way that you aren’t in the news for the wrong thing. Most of the wounds that Ja has suffered have been self-inflicted.
