It took some time but Aaron Rodgers is finally a member of the NY Jets.
Everyone knew the move was on the way after the season ended and it was just a matter of time before the 4 time MVP was traded there.
The Jets gave up the 13th pick in this year’s 2023 draft which falls at 13th plus a 2nd and 6th in the 2023 draft with an additional conditional 2nd round pick in the 2024 that could become a 1st round pick if Rodgers plays in 65% of the Jets games next season. The Jets got back Rodgers of course but also received the Packers 2023 1st round pick which lands at 15th plus a 5th in the draft.
Now comes the expectations for the Jets. If you add a MVP caliber QB, your Super Bowl odds will go up and that’s exactly what happened for them. After the Super Bowl, when odds were first announced, the Jets had +2800 odds to win Super Bowl 58 to now having +1400 odds at winning with some being as low as +1275. That gives them the 6th best odds now.
Will they meet those expectation though? Only time will tell.
