Well…. Well that wasn’t as good as last night. An incredibly deflating and honestly horrible finish coupled with baffling booking decisions derailed what could have been the best WrestleMania ever. Let’s talk about it.
Brock Lesnar vs Omos
The first of many baffling decisions of the night, Lesnar defeated Omos in a match he really didn’t need at all. Omos could have used the victory to continue to gain momentum but instead it’s one F5 and 1-2-3. At least Brock sold Omos’ offense really well and made him look like a monster but in no way did Lesnar need that win.

Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez vs. Natalya and Shotzi vs. Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler vs. Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville
The “Get everyone on the card” match of the night, again not really anything to call home about. Ronda Rousey wins via armbar and the crowd went mild. Ho hum.

Gunther (c) vs. Sheamus vs. Drew McIntyre
Finally I can get optimistic. I said this would be big meaty men slapping meat and that’s what we got. Honestly should have just watched this match and got out because this was a classic. All three men really put their working boots on and delivered a match for the ages. Just slapping the piss out of each other for 30 minutes it was a phenomenal match that was by far the best of the night. I don’t really have a problem with Gunther winning here either has he’s been a worthy champion and he didn’t have to win by doing the SAME FINISH HE’S DONE THE ENTIRE REIGN (Spoiler for later). I was blown away by that match and every man in that should be proud of themselves.
RATING: 5*
Bianca Belair (c) vs. Asuka
Another baffling decision, Bianca Belair retains over Asuka. Really don’t understand the logic here, Asuka has come back with the momentum and was clearly the favorite but it can’t be WrestleMania without Asuka getting screwed I guess. The match was okay, not something we’ll be talking about though. Will give a shoutout to the kids in Bianca’s entrance though I mean the athletic ability of those kids was amazing. Asuka definitely needed the win, though, I mean, why change her character up if she’s just going to lose clean?
RATING: 3*
IMPROMTU MATCH: Shane McMahon vs The Miz
I mean why didn’t LA Knight get this moment? The crowd loves him, it’s in LA, why not have LA Knight vs Bobby Lashley instead of this shit show? Shane came back and within seconds tore his leg up or broke his ankle. Then Snoop Dogg knocked The Miz out and gave us the worst people’s elbow in history but hey it was a fun moment I guess. But if we’re going to do a time wasting match then why not have LA Knight and Lashley go at it for 10 mins? Ho hum again.
RATING: DUD
Edge vs. “The Demon” Finn Bálor
Another bonkers decision, Edge in what might be his last ever WrestleMania match got a win he absolutely did not need. While both entrances were really cool, and it was awesome to see The Demon at WrestleMania, this match should have been a heck of a lot better than it was. A huge reason behind this is Balor seemed to get legitimately busted upon when Edge needed a ladder right at his face, causing the medical staff to come out. While I applaud the caution showed by WWE here looking out for their wrestlers, this match felt slow and lethargic, culminating in an anticlimactic finish with Edge hitting Balor with the Con-chair-to to beat The Demon.
RATING: 2*
Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes
Oh boy. Oh boy oh boy oh boy. What if Thanos won at the end of Avengers Endgame by doing the exact same crap he did in Infinity War? That was this match. What was easily going to be a 5* classic was ruined by yet another crap finish to help Roman win. It’s really hard to buy Roman as the undisputed final boss of the company when he can’t win a match without a ref bump and his cousins coming to the rescue. There was a second where I thought it was the end with Sami and KO getting the Usos out and Solo being ejected but NOPE! ROMANWINSLOL. I’m genuinely infuriated by this match because the entrances were amazing, the crowd was hot, and the storytelling by both men were some of the best I’ve ever seen. However I guess WWE can’t help themselves. It’s one thing to do the tired old “Ref bump, Roman cousin helps, spear, 1-2-3” at Backlash, Fastlane, TLC, or some other B level PLE, but to do it at the main event of the biggest WrestleMania of all time when every possible ounce of storytelling logic tells you it’s time to have the bad guy lose is just embarrassing. I cannot really put into words how horrible of a decision this was as it ruined a genuinely incredible match. I mean where the hell do you go with Roman now? Have him lose to Jey at Summerslam? Maybe, but that wouldn’t have been near as huge a moment as Cody winning tonight. This entire exhausting reign by Roman has been the same damn thing. Every defense has the cousins helping Roman with a stupid ref looking the other way or knocked out, and Roman hits a spear to win. I just don’t get why you do that tired finish at WrestleMania. Maybe Vince is back after all because I refuse to believe Triple H is this stupid to not read the room. Pathetic.

*EDITOR’S NOTE*
This is your BSO tribal chief Robert Littal fresh off being LIVE at Wrestlemania. While I hate interference in Wrestlemania matches, I feel that the powers that be, didn’t see any room to grow with Cody Rhodes at top and while I do think he will get win at some point, it all seemed a bit rushed. This opens the door for Jey Uso or Sami Zayn to potentially being the one who dethrones Roman.
SHOW RATING: 3/10
This show fell off a cliff after the all timer that was last night. Just horrible decisions up and down the card and if it wasn’t for the incredible triple threat, I would have rated this a zero. Incredibly disappointing end to what should have been the best weekend in wrestling history. Disappointing.
