The NBA Playoffs wouldn’t be the NBA Playoffs if it didn’t have at least somebody claiming a series matchup is rigged. The Los Angeles Lakers managed to clear the defending NBA Champions – the Golden State Warriors – in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals. They now prepare to take on Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in this year’s Western Conference Finals. According to the Sun, excuses are already flowing on NBA Twitter if the Lakers manage to make it to the NBA Finals.
Here is what The Sun has reported being said so far:
Fans are convinced that the Lakers will reach the NBA Finals because the upcoming series against the Nuggets will be “rigged.”
One such fan tweeted: “It’s always rigged for the Lakers. Nuggets need to shoot lights out.”
Another said: “Lakers going to the NBA finals. It’s gonna be rigged that way.”
While one wrote: “If the Lakers beat the nuggets the NBA is rigged 100%.”
The Los Angeles Lakers closed out their series against the Warriors in dominating fashion by ending Game 6 with a 122-101 win thanks to that LeBron James – Anthony Davis duo showing up and showing out when it was needed most.
James nearly ended up with a trouble-double on the night, netting 30-points to go along with his nine assist and nine rebounds. His running A.D., who missed last game due to injury, put in work on the glass by putting up 20 total rebounds to add to his 17-points. How good were the Lakers in this Semi-Finals series? Well, according to The Sun, fans have pointed out a major gap in free throws between the two teams. Lakers attempted 160 free throws with 126 of them made, compared to Golden State’s 80 free throw attempts and 60 converted.
The two teams will meet this Tuesday night for Game 1 at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.
