Steelers Looking at Signing Malik Willis if Titans Cut Him

The Titans traded up in the 3rd round and selected Malik Willis last year, and most thought that he would be the future QB for the franchise.

Like most rookies, his rookie season wasn’t much to brag about, and that led the Titans to drafting Will Levis in the 2nd round of the draft this year, causing many experts to think that Levis will now be the QB of the future.

There was talk of Levis getting drafted as high as two, but he fell to the second day of the NFL Draft, which has caused everyone to wonder what will happen with Willis.

Will he be the backup or third string? Will he be traded or waived? Will he have a shot at winning the starting job?

No one knows at this point, but there are reports that teams are interested in him.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Noah Strackerbein, the Steelers could look to give Willis a shot after they were initially interested in him before he was drafted, and they decided on Kenny Picket.

“If Tennessee does move on from Willis, the Steelers have a decision to make. With Mitch Trubisky entering the final year of his deal, Pittsburgh is looking for a long-term backup quarterback. They added two undrafted free agents in Minnesota’s Tanner Morgan and Northwestern’s Hunter Johnson, but neither move the needle enough to hold off on another addition.”

It will be very interesting to see the market for Willis if he is released or if there is a trade market for him.
