Dwight Howard had a hilarious phone call with LeBron James after the Los Angeles Lakers were swept in the NBA playoffs. According to Howard, he told LeBron to come play in Taiwan after the Lakers were destroyed in the playoffs via TPS;
Former NBA star Dwight Howard jokingly invited several athletes who lost in this year’s NBA playoffs to join him in Taiwan.
After Monday night, it was time for some more to join him, most notably, one of the greatest players in NBA history.
For those who may be unaware, the 36-year-old center announced in November that he decided to take his talents to Taiwan and play for the Taoyuan City Leopards. He is dominating as he should while averaging 23 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists over there.
Last week, he started recruiting every failed playoff performer in the NBA this season.
This week, he got his phone and may have pretended to call LeBron James and get him to Taiwan.
After scoring 40 points and playing all but four seconds of the Los Angeles Lakers’ 113-111 Game 4 loss to the Denver Nuggets — James ominously stated “Going forward with the game of basketball, I’ve got a lot to think about.”
The 38-year-old wrapped up his campaign by leading the No. 7-seeded Lakers all the way to the Western Conference finals.
James has one season remaining on his contract with the Lakers, worth $46.7 million for 2023-24, and a player option for the following season worth $50.4 million.
It remains to be seen what he will do, but he won’t be headed to Taiwan.
Although highly unlikely, the prospect of LeBron embarking on a global tour and playing for various international teams in his mid 40s or 50s is intriguing. I would definitely tune in to watch, and I’m sure you would too.
