Ja Morant is currently suspended from the Memphis Grizzlies for the second time this year following his second gun wave incident a few weeks ago. Conversations about the talented NBA star’s questionable behaviors are still ongoing, and his close pals are talking.
Ja Morant is currently being rigorously investigated because he claims the gun he waved in the second incident that got him suspended from 25 games is not a real gun but a toy gun. Ja’s close friend Davonte Pack has collaborated his story with the NBA team conducting the investigation, however, he also confirmed or snitched that the baller does own a Glock 40 gun. It is not clear if Ja has a permit for the firearm his friend spoke of but it will be a big deal if he doesn’t.
Detailed Report via TPS;
A close friend of Ja Morant reportedly told authorities the NBA star owns a firearm.
Morant has been suspended for the first 25 games of next season after appearing in a second video brandishing a pistol. According to Lucas Finton of the Memphis Commercial Appeal, an associate of Ja’s, Davonte Pack, said the player does own a Glock 40 as part of a deposition but noted that he was holding a lighter bearing the appearance of a gun in the most recent video.
Pack’s deposition was made in reference to reports claiming the two-time All-Star had assaulted a teenager at his house in 2022.
Morant is said to have punched the teen before going into the house to get a gun. However, the Shelby County District Attorney’s office opted not to press charges due to a lack of evidence.
Finton notes Pack’s deposition came as a result of a lawsuit filed in September and, while Morant has not been deposed, he could be in the future.
Since that incident, Ja has found himself in no shortage of trouble. But things really came to a head when he went on Instagram Live waving a gun while at a Denver strip club in March. He was suspended by the league for eight games and expressed contrition.
Two months later, the point guard was back on Instagram brandishing a pistol. As a result, he will sit out the first 25 games of the season and will lose around $10 million due to the missed games.
It is not a crime to own a gun unless you have no permit to do so. Hopefully, he does, Morant has joked with his career enough.
