Women are brave, and in recent times, victims falling in love with their attackers without hesitation has been in the top 5 of romantic stories. A beautiful woman was asked to narrate how she met her boyfriend, and she boldly told the cameras that she was robbed by the said man, but later they fell in love and decided to be romantic.
The thief chimed in while his victim-turned-lover narrated the story, claiming that he regretted what he did because he was going through a difficult time, but right after committing the crime, he regretted it and made amends by pursuing her. While this seems like a fairytale love story, I refuse to encourage it.
Throughout history, some of the most unlikely love stories have occurred behind enemy lines during times of war and unlawfully between inmates and staff members behind bars. But perhaps one of the most implausible love stories of them all is a romantic relationship between a mugger and his victim from Brazil that recently went viral.
According to the couple, their love affair began when Emanuela was strolling around the mugger’s neighborhood before he noticed her and tried to forcibly procure her cell phone…and that’s when the magic happened.
“I was walking down the street where he lives, and unfortunately, I was mugged,” Emanuela recalled during an interview before her boyfriend chimed in about the encounter.
“I was going through a difficult situation because I didn’t have a woman,” he said.“When I saw her photo on the phone, I said to myself, ‘What a beautiful brunette, you don’t see a brunette like that every day,’ and I regretted stealing it.’”
The couple has been going strong for two years now.
In these times where domestic violence and spouse killing are on the rise, it is concerning to ignore such a huge red flag and start following a thief around in the name of love.
