What do Doc Rivers, Dell Curry, and John Stockton all have in common? All of the individuals listed above have sons who are active NBA players. For many generations, father-son teams have called the league home. This is a recurring theme in the NBA and it won’t go away anytime soon. Father-son teams have long been a highlight of the NBA, and LeBron James has already made it known that he intends to play with Bronny.
As his kid gets ready for the NBA season, another former All-Star could soon join that list. The father of four has always been a mainstay of the NBA and is well known for his blunt demeanour and propensity for dissing opponents. The former Warriors guard recently recalled a heartbreaking father-son story and said that life was never simple. But given the newest information about his son, the Tampa-born celebrity may be in for a pleasant surprise.
Gilbert Arenas talks about his father in a heartbreaking story
‘Agent Zero’ was Gilbert Arenas before he rose to fame at Ulysses S. Grant High School in Los Angeles. He was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. The three-time All-Star stayed in Florida until he was six years old when his father bravely crossed the West. Arenas outlined the causes of this cross-country move in an interview with ANDSCAPE while telling a very moving story. Gilbert Arenas Sr. relocated from Tampa to Los Angeles in order to pursue an acting career. Driving an RX-7 that had travelled more than 100,00 miles throughout the nation. As he travelled to LA with his son and $30, the single father ran the possibility of becoming homeless. Gilbert Jr., who was only 6 at the time, recalls that as he and his friend travelled around Pasadena without a home, they were turned away from the YMCA and a shelter. They spent the night in a parking lot, and Arenas recalled his father crying.
Speaking about that particular instance, Arenas recalled asking his father what was wrong, to which the man resolutely replied, “Nothing’s wrong son.” Arenas informed his father that even as a young child, he understood the issue. “Everything will work out fine, Daddy,” the child said.
The Arenas family’s future is promising
Gilbert Arenas Jr.’s journey to the NBA proved that everything would work out in the end. ‘Hibachi’ didn’t exactly light up the NBA, despite the fact that he did make three all-star appearances. The fact that he managed to enter the league is a victory in and of itself, despite the fact that he was unable to win a ring. The narrative came full circle when he moved into a gated neighborhood in Los Angeles.
Given that the good fortune is still going on, this is probably not the end. Alijah Arenas, the son of Arenas, is placed fifth in his class as he strives to surpass his father’s achievements. The 16-year-old might deliver the chip to the Arenas family because he is the top shooting guard in his class.
