Rocket Dillon Brooks, who recently signed with the Lakers, still has to deal with the Lakers making fun of him after a humiliating playoff collapse with the Memphis Grizzlies. Although Houston took a risk on the All-NBA defender, Brooks’ humiliation at the hands of ex-purple and gold players continued on the international scene.
As a member of Team Canada, Brooks guarded Dennis Schroeder of Germany before slipping as the guard set up the former Oregon Duck with a deft dribble motion.

Later, Schroeder tricked Brooks with a fake pass before passing it to his countryman in the corner for an open three-pointer that increased the German lead to 18. It’s hilarious to see that Brooks and the purple and gold have no love lost despite the fact that Schroeder wasn’t on the list of players that LA brought back from their playoff core a year ago. After the Lakers’ star Lebron James was disparaged by Brooks during game two’s triumph, the youthful ex-Grizzly said he didn’t respect any player who didn’t give him 40 points and that James was an elderly player.

While it is true that James is far from a spring chicken, he looked young on two drives to the basket in Game 4 of the Grizzlies series to help the Lakers take a 3-1 lead against Brooks. This came after Brooks put on a terrible performance on both ends of the court, resorting to hitting James in the groyne to start the second half in an effort to halt the veteran. After his theatrics in game 3, Brooks was soon removed, and despite his comeback in game 5, the Lakers swiftly and hilariously ironically terminated Brooks’ season.
The Lakers poetically ended Memphis’ season with a win of, you guessed it, 40 points to send the youthful 2 seed home for the summer rather than simply one player dropping 40 points on the former Ducks’ head. It’s funny to see that Brooks can’t avoid getting toasted by the franchise in some fashion, despite their allegiance to the purple and gold.
