The Los Angeles Lakers are taking precautions to ensure that one of their best players won’t quit the team soon after being a part of the 2020 Finals squad. Anthony Davis inked a three-year agreement with the Lakers, keeping him with the organization until the 2028 campaign.

Since 2019, Davis has been a member of the Lakers. He was acquired from the Pelicans in a deal that also included Josh Hart, Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, and three first-round picks. Since joining the Lakers, Davis has been chosen to the All-NBA First Team, All-Defensive team, and won a championship.
What will Anthony Davis make from his new deal ?
The Brow has averaged 24.6 points and 10.1 rebounds per game in his four seasons with the Lakers. Davis’s health has been a problem during his time with the Lakers. Since his debut season with the organization, he hasn’t played a full season and hasn’t participated in more than 60 games.
The Lakers are hopeful that over his new three-year contract, Davis will be able to contribute more. His three-year salary guarantee under his new contract is 186 million dollars. Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN claims that because Davis will receive an annual salary of $62 million, his agreement is the wealthiest in NBA history.
The Lakers’ most recent move this offseason was to extend Davis’ contract. The squad added free agents Jaxson Hayes, Gabe Vincent, and Cam Reddish last month.
