It doesn’t happen every day that the culmination of your efforts, hustle, and successes is preserved for all the world to see. But in all its grandeur, that is exactly what happened a few days ago to Dwayne Wade, a former Miami Heat legend. On August 12 in Springfield, Massachusetts, the 13-time NBA All-Star was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame and presented with the coveted orange jacket.
Naturally, greats always recognize greats in this wonderful realm of sports. While the three-time NBA champion was adored by the crowd and his admirers everywhere, one particular “hall-of-famer” in his own right hurried to his social media account to express his love and congrats for a man he deems a close friend.
Lewis Hamilton goes gaga over his buddy Wade’s HOF moment
Possibly the best Formula 1 driver of all time is Lewis Hamilton. And it is nothing short of remarkable that he surmounted all obstacles to establish his history in the sport as a 7-time winner. Hamilton, who was unable to be present for his friend’s triumph, nevertheless, seized the chance to offer the 41-year-old former professional basketball player a tonne of support.
Wade received the honor, and Hamilton posted a video of it on his Instagram account for Hamilton to enjoy. The story’s caption read: “Proud of you, this great guy. Love, bro.”
Wade had earned his day in the sun, leaving one more member of this grand yet wholesome trio out.
LeBron James follows suit to congratulate Dwayne Wade
It’s no secret that Hamilton has strong ties to a number of today’s top black athletes. And LeBron James himself is the biggest of them all. And it was only fitting that James joined Hamilton in paying tribute to their friend on Wade’s emotional and special day.
James wrote : “Today is the official day my brother @dwyanewade goes into the HOF!!!!! WOW WOW WOW bro!! Man I can’t say enough how proud and happy I am of/for you. The kid from Robbins, IL now in the HALL!!! You a bad man Trey Ball! SCREAMING.”
