Terence Crawford Says Gervonta Davis Hasn’t Fought ‘Top Elite’ Opponents- “Somebody His Size”

Terence Crawford and Gervonta Davis, both the undefeated world champions, have lived up to their expectations this year by winning high-profile fights against Errol Spence Jr. and Ryan Garcia respectively.

Boxing fans had demanded to see Davis vs Garcia and Crawford vs Spence for several years. That said, ‘Tank’ and ‘Bud’ both won their fights via TKOs in round seven. Now, several people have begun fantasizing about how a fight between Terence Crawford and Gervonta Davis would look like.

A lot of their boxing achievements are also being compared since Davis (29-0) has become a three-weight unified champion at the age of 28 and ‘Bud’ is the only two-weight undisputed champion at the age of 35.

During a conversation in the Joe Rogan Podcast, Crawford shed his views on ‘Tank’ Davis getting compared to him.

‘Bud’ said, “Hat’s off to Tank, he’s a great, talented fighter but he hasn’t faced the top elite fighters in his division. We wanna see Tank against somebody his size at the elite level. I believe he will do good. But we haven’t seen that yet.”

Gervonta Davis can possibly rematch Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz next, per reports. Cruz has arguably been the toughest opponent for ‘Tank’ Davis so far.

The fight that ended for all 12 rounds saw both men put damage on each other. But Davis won via decision. It remains to be seen what happens if the two collide one more time.

Who Will Terence Crawford Face Next?

Terence Crawford has desired to face Jermell Charlo several times. While putting a beat down on Spence Jr, Crawford was also trash-talking with Jermell Charlo, who was present in attendance.

Following the fight, Crawford has talked about his move up to 154 lbs. However, in Joe Rogan’s podcast, the undisputed 147 lbs champion outlined his plans of facing the winner of Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo for the undisputed 168 lbs belts.

It remains to be seen whether Canelo Alvarez loses the belts against Charlo or even if he wins, whether he entertains Crawford.
