Caleb Plant has justified his public attack on Jeremall Charlo at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas during Errol Spence Jr. and Terrence Crawford’s match last month.
According to Plant, Charlo instigated the attack by picking on him in front of his wife and peers. Even after he warned him to stop, he took things further and played with his beard while still demeaning him with words like “b*tch a*s White boy”. Plant claims that after his warning failed, he couldn’t just stand and get humiliated in front of his friends and wife, hence, he resorted to the only thing that could help solve the issue, violence. As a Texas boy, he slapped Charlo right in the face twice to redeem his honor.
Although the highly anticipated battle of undefeated welterweights Terence “Bud” Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. fell short of the pre-fight hype, the Charlo Twins provided boxing fans with plenty of entertaining moments in Las Vegas. From Jermell trashing-talking Bud Crawford during his match to his twin, Jermall, getting into a backstage scuffle with former super middleweight champion Caleb Plant (24-2), the Charlo twins went viral numerous times last weekend.
Caleb Plant recently took to social media to explain why he slapped Jermall Charlo, stating that the undefeated light middleweight fighter antagonized him in front of his wife by calling him a “b*tch a*s White boy” and repeatedly tugging on his beard after being asked not to.
I’m glad Plant got his moment in front of his troll, but he was lucky enough to get the security to step in to stop Charlo before he could fight back, Plant could have been beaten on top of the verbal abuse.
