“With Lebron James Out, Anthony Davis Will Step Up!”: Lakers Legend on Ad’s Role Following ‘Massive’ $186,000,000 Extension

The Lakers and Anthony Davis have agreed to a hefty $186,000,000 three-year deal extension. He will stay in Los Angeles as a result of this deal till the 2028 election. James Worthy, a Lakers star and icon, believes Anthony Davis’ attitude towards his position on the team may change as a result of this agreement.

As Worthy spoke with Spectrum SportsNet, Davis must assume more responsibility as Lebron James enters the pivotal stage of his career. Worthy guided the Lakers to NBA championship triumph three times during his prime.

He was an important part of the Showtime Lakers teams of the 1980s and is regarded as one of the NBA’s greatest power forwards. James has vowed to keep his loyalty to the Lakers throughout his life and is still a devoted supporter of them.

Being the astute observer that he is, he thinks Davis might develop into a noteworthy leader for the Lakers and is looking forward to his future moves.

James Worthy discusses his thoughts regarding Anthony Davis’ deal

Worthy remarked that he was “thrilled” to learn about Davis’ extension. He believes Davis will be crucial to the Lakers’ upcoming successes and views it as evidence of their fervor for winning. View the interview in the tweet that follows.

Worthy added that he believes Davis would seize the chance presented by this agreement to assume more responsibility and take charge of the Lakers. Davis possesses the aptitude and moral integrity needed to succeed as a leader.

In spite of the fact that it has taken some time since James originally asserted it, Davis has begun to finally demonstrate that he can live up to those expectations.

Finally, AD’s time has begun

According to SLAM magazine, in 2019, LeBron James took a risky decision by allowing Anthony Davis complete control of the Lakers’ offence. He acknowledged his satisfaction as being Los Angeles’ reserve player and urged Davis to take charge.

In response, Davis put together a tremendous run that stands out as one of his career’s high points. Notably, it took the centre a couple seasons (and a title) following the remark until he enjoyed perhaps the healthiest stretch of his career in 2023, enabling him to properly lead his team on the court.

LeBron James’ skills have not been diminished as much by age as was previously anticipated. He remains a remarkable player. Even yet, he is much less energetic now at age 38 than he was five years ago.

Anthony Davis is the best option to take on a leadership position and assume command for the Lakers because they need someone else to do so. Davis possesses a special blend of skills and knowledge that will enable him to lead effectively.

He consistently gives the impression that he is the league’s top center at the moment if he pushes himself to play for extended stretches of time. He must now advance and assume greater responsibility for the team. There is no reason to doubt that the Lakers will have a serious championship run if he can express himself with LeBron James as his mentor.
