Breaking : Journalist Slams LA Chargers’ Poor Defense on This

Despite having top players on every position, the Chargers defense continues to let the team down. After two disappointing losses, the Los Angeles Chargers have a 0-2 record for the year.

LA suffered a heartbreaking loss in Week 1 as the Miami Dolphins managed to take the lead with just under two minutes remaining. In that contest, Tua Tagovailoa completed passes for more than 400 yards and threw three touchdown passes to help his team win.

Journalist slams the Chargers Defense

A competent Dolphins team that should contend for the AFC Championship this year defeated the Chargers. But in Week 2, the Chargers were defeated by a winless Titans squad that was missing their top receiving threat.

Ryan Tannehill, the quarterback, completed 83% of his throws while tossing the ball 246 yards. According to Jeff Miller of The Los Angeles Times, despite playing a lot of zone defense, the Chargers defense as a whole was consistently getting chunked. Miller said

“The two big pass plays were more mental errors,” “After the game, coach Brandon Staley talked about recognizing who on the other team is a deep threat. Not sure how you can prepare all week for an opponent and still be trying to figure out something like that on game day. The 49-yard completion against Michael Davis wasn’t terrible defense. Davis was a step behind Chris Moore early in the route but closed at the end and couldn’t stop what was an excellent throw by Tannehill.”

The offence was already going to be restricted out of the backfield due to the absence of standout running back Austin Ekeler due to injury this game.

The Chargers’ defense needs to start stepping up, and this weekend’s game against the winless Minnesota Vikings will be a difficult test. Although the Vikings have one of the strongest offences in the NFL, the outcome of this game may depend on which defense can prevent a turnover.
