The former San Francisco 49ers star Colin Kaepernick could be heading towards Canada as reports suggest he has been put on the negotiation list of CFL”s BC Lions. If all talks and negotiations go through, Colin will be moving to the Canadian Football League.
For now, it’s just a report by TSN’s Farhan Lalji.
As Colin Kaepernick continues to hold out hope for a potential return to the NFL, another professional football team outside the U.S. has expressed interested in signing the ex-San Francisco 49ers star.
TSN’s Farhan Lalji, who covers the CFL”s BC Lions and the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks, reported on Thursday evening that the Lions have added Kaepernick to their negotiation list.
This major news comes just two days after Kaepernick wrote a letter to the New York Jets, requesting them to sign him to their practice squad. Kaepernick listed Michigan head coach and ex-49ers’ HC Jim Harbaugh, Baltimore Ravens’ head coach John Harbaugh, ex-49ers’ and current UCLA head coach Chip Kelly and Las Vegas Raiders’ owner Mark Davis as his references.

Kaepernick made headlines around the world when he kneeled during the playing of the U.S. national anthem in a 2016 preseason game. Kaepernick explained that he knelt as a way to protest against racial injustices and police brutality in the United States.
After being released by the 49ers in 2017, Kaepernick was never again signed by an NFL team. He later filed a lawsuit against the NFL, alleging that the owners had colluded to keep him out of the league.
The parties reached a confidential settlement in 2019. Kaepernick continues to work out and train extensively with the hope of landing another chance in the NFL.
While the BC Lions have put Colin Kaepernick on their negotiation list hoping to get him to play for them, Colin on the other hand is requesting the New York Jets to sign him to their practice squad.
