Are The Rams Tanking?

Prior to the 2023 season, very few people had high expectations for the Rams, and their preseason performance didn’t exactly help. They had a 0-3 record and were defeated 109-34 by the Chargers, Raiders, and Broncos, who also shut them out 41-0 in the season finale.

Even though there weren’t many anticipated starters for the Rams in those three games, they didn’t play well overall. According to Pro Football Focus, it even caused Los Angeles to receive the lowest offensive, defensive, and special teams grades in the NFL.

What does NBA analyst of USA Today think about Rams chances

Nate Davis of USA TODAY had predicted the Rams would finish 7-10 this year, but after watching them compete in the preseason, he is now even more pessimistic. The Rams are predicted to go 6-11 in Davis’ most recent estimates, but they still place third in the NFC West.

Realistically, the Rams are most likely to finish between 6-11 and 10-7. It’s difficult to imagine them winning many more games than that, and as long as they have Aaron Donald, Matthew Stafford, and Cooper Kupp, they ought to be stronger than they were the previous season.

This should be a middle-of-the-road team, but obviously injuries can rapidly derail that notion, and we’ve already seen Kupp go down with a hamstring strain.
