Nia Long is yet to come to terms that her then-fiance Ime Udoka cheated on her with a mistress and even though it’s been many months since the cheating scandal and you can surely understand why, considering they were engaged for 10 years. She is now ready to call them out and she did that right on her Instagram page.
Nia Long called Ime Udoka, the mistress, and then Celtics out over lack of awareness.
Nia Long called out her ex-fiancé’s alleged mistress and the Boston Celtics over their lack of “awareness” following their shocking cheating scandal.
On Monday, the “Best Man” actress shared a video of writer Dr. Yaba Blay speaking to her two friends on their “We Can Do Hard Things” podcast about how the world treats white women’s tears versus black women’s tears.
“Where was this level of awareness a year ago @celtics ??? #kathleenlynch,” Long, 52, captioned the clip, hashtagging the name Udoka’s alleged mistress, whose identity was never revealed by the NBA team, for the first time.
The “Big Momma’s House” actress was shown support from several stars in the comments section of her post.
“Accountability to my sis and nefews (sic) retribution is in order I stands with u @iamnialong I. got ya bac. ,” Snoop Dogg wrote.
“She said that… and it’s so true … we’ve been conditioned not to show emotions… we hold it in …… we’ll it doesn’t come out with tears…. Maybe anger .. but not tears ,” added “Married to Medicine” star Dr. Heavenly Kimes.
“Hello,” added Oscar-winning costume designer Ruth E. Carter.
This isn’t the first time Long has called out the NBA team following Udoka’s cheating scandal.
The mom of two previously revealed that the Celtics organization never reached out to check on her and her family after making the affair public.
“I think the most heartbreaking thing about all of this was seeing my son’s face when the Boston Celtics organization decided to make a very private situation public,” she shared during an interview with the Hollywood Reporter in December.
“It was devastating, and it still is. He still has moments where it’s not easy for him. If you’re in the business of protecting women — I’m sorry, no one from the Celtics organization has even called to see if I’m OK, to see if my children are OK. It’s very disappointing.”
Last September, Udoka — who had been dating Long since 2010 — was suspended as head coach of the Celtics when his alleged affair, which violated “team policies,” came to light.
“I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family for letting them down,” Udoka, 46, said in a statement at the time. “I am sorry for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the team’s decision. Out of respect for everyone involved, I will have no further comment.”
Long had just moved to Boston two weeks before the news broke, and Lynch was reportedly the one who helped coordinate her travel arrangements.
That December, the “Missing” star revealed that she and Udoka had called off their engagement.
“The situation is unfortunate and painful, but Nia is focusing on her children and rebuilding her life,” her rep told People at the time.
Following their split, Long admitted that she and Udoka’s 11-year-old son, Kez, was having a “really tough time” dealing with the aftermath of the situation.
Last month, the “Love Jones” star — who is also mom to son Massai, 22, from a previous relationship — filed for legal and physical custody of her youngest son, after claiming that Udoka had “failed” to support their child, per court docs obtained by Page Six.
Long reportedly requested in the paperwork she filed on Aug. 14 that her ex have “reasonable visitation” that is “consistent with the child’s best interest.”
After Udoka was fired from the Celtics, he was hired to be the head coach of the Houston Rockets.
The former basketball player revealed in April that he underwent sensitivity training and counseling with his son after losing his job.
Cheating seems to be in the DNA of humans and from Nia Long’s reactions to the scandal, she was shocked when the news of Ime Udoka cheating on her with a mistress hit the web. She probably never expected Udoka to go to that length.
In a twist, it appears that Lynch’s husband was the one who went to the Celtics after he found out about the affair. That was the same time that Lynch started switching her story up about the relationship with Udoka. Lynch’s husband decided to not divorce her for her infidelity and they are still together.
In another twist Lynch was the one who arranged all the travel plans for Nia Long and her son. She still works for the team.
