Ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline, the Arizona Cardinals have decided whether or not to deal Kyler Murray.
The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports that a number of teams “could be interested in” the 26-year-old quarterback. The Cardinals aren’t even “shopping,” according to Russini, despite the fact that Murray will soon make his season debut.
While there are teams that could be interested in trading for Arizona QB Kyler Murray, I was told the organization is not shopping him.

Although Murray hasn’t explicitly asked to be traded, the Cardinals’ record without their ace quarterback is a dismal 1-7. Many wonder if Murray is on borrowed time in Arizona, given Arizona’s chances of winning the Caleb Williams sweepstakes or at least selecting another outstanding quarterback prospect in the next draft.
However, it appears that there won’t be a prompt response to that query. Murray, who underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in December of last year, may be able to play in Sunday’s Week 9 game against the Cleveland Browns.
“If it’s not Kyler, it’s Clayton Tune.”

Of course, in the second half of the season, Murray might make a fierce comeback and provide the Cardinals with an answer to that query. The franchise will probably retain him around if he performs well, wins a lot of games, and eliminates Arizona from the Williams sweepstakes.
After trading up for Will Anderson Jr., Arizona acquired the Houston Texans’ first-round pick, meaning they will have two first-round picks in the following year’s draft. With those two first-round selections, Arizona should use them to build around Murray and keep him.
