In a crime that has horrified the nation, police have released surveillance video that appears to show the moment an 11-year-old kid is accused of shooting two of his teammates.
Before his mother seized the pistol, scooped him up, and led him back toward the SUV, the alleged shooter was seen going to a car, getting a revolver, and firing a single shot. The purported scuffle over a bag of chips that was slapped from his hands at the Pop Warner practice is what led to the event.

His gunshot wounded one of his teammates in the back, and it’s also possible that another child was struck in the arm by the same bullet. The hospital was contacted, and both children are anticipated to make a full recovery.
According to Apopka Police Chief Michael McKinley, the child, who cannot be named because of his age, is charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder.
He found the gun in an unlocked box in his mother’s SUV. Officials said that they would press charges against the mother since it was a second-degree misdemeanor to leave it open to a youngster.
“Nobody wants to arrest an 11-year-old, by any means,” Apopka police chief Mike McKinley said of the matter during a press conference on Tuesday, “but based on our investigation we feel those charges are warranted.”
“Juveniles, young juveniles…that have access to guns, but the more disturbing part is that they believe that gun, that firearm, is a resolution to their problem. And it’s not a resolution to anybody’s problems. It just creates more problems for everybody involved,” he said.
The mother informed the police that the youngster knew where the gun was stored, which was in an unlocked box under her seat. At this time, the suspect is being housed in a juvenile correctional facility.
