Breaking : Lil’Jordan Humphrey Is Let Go by the Broncos

Prior to Thursday’s game in Kansas City, the Denver Broncos did a little roster arithmetic and subtracted a wide receiver in preparation for the prospective addition of a tight end.

Lil’Jordan Humphrey, a wide receiver, was released by the Broncos on Wednesday. The organization anticipates seeing him back on the practice squad after its Week 6 game.

Sean Payton’s favorite from their time with the Saints, Humphrey was signed in March and dismissed in August during final cuts. He started off on the practice squad before being promoted following the first game of the year.

In his five appearances for the Broncos to date, Humphrey (6-4, 225) caught four catches for 26 yards and a touchdown on 97 offensive snaps. Sean Payton had said

“He’s smart, he’s tough and he’s got strong hands,”

“He can block, so he is a physical receiver. There is a size element to what he does. He operates pretty well in tight quarters. We don’t put him out wide all of the time. We’ll usually have him in the slot. We can move him around, but you know exactly what you are getting.”
