When it comes to basketball shoes it’s Nike/Jordan then Adidas significantly behind them.
After those two brands everyone else is competing for third. There are brands like New Balance, Converse, Puma, Under Armour, and some international brands like Anta and Li Ning.
For a while, Reebok was third and made a strong case for second but that isn’t the case anymore. Their success was due to having two of the best players in the league on their roster in Shaquille O’Neal and Allen Iverson.
Ever since those two have have retired though, mainly Iverson, the brand hasn’t really had a true star to be the face of Reebok.
That could change in the near future.
The brand recently announced that Shaq would be taking over as Reebok President of Basketball while Iverson is taking over as Vice President.

The two will look to bring the popularity back to the brand and be in charge of the partnerships, recruiting athletes to Reebok, and help with community based incentives.
Allen Iverson has also been appointed as Vice President of Reebok Basketball where he will help drive player recruitment, grassroots and community-based initiatives, and athlete activations like the Iverson Classic 🙌 https://t.co/b1iIpxT3Wc pic.twitter.com/mOjifc14cC

Having NBA legends like Shaq and Iverson as the heads of basketball could go a long way for Reebok because not many brands can bring legends of that stature to a negotiating table like them.
Happy for both of those guys. They truly deserve it.
