It is scheduled for Marshawn Lynch to appear in court in the upcoming days. The former NFL running back is in court after he was charged with DUI last year after police in Las Vegas discovered him dozing off in a car without a wheel.
Lynch allegedly admitted to authorities that he had stolen the vehicle he was operating: “During the stop, cops say Lynch’ stated that he was not drinking and he does not do drugs, but that he stole the vehicle,” according to TMZ Sports.
The passenger side front tire was “almost off,” and one tire had been torn off.
Witness footage from the incident showed Lynch being forcefully restrained by police while they carried out a search warrant to take a blood sample because he had refused to take a Breathalyzer. His court date is set for this Wednesday, November 8.
Lynch’s blood alcohol content may have been twice the permitted limit, according to prosecutors, according to 8NewsNow.com. He is currently being charged with DUI, operating an unregistered vehicle, and failing to drive in a travel lane. It is his not guilty plea.
Lynch was a member of the 2013 Seahawks team that won the Super Bowl during his seven years of playing for the team. He spent a total of 13 seasons as an NFL player before retiring in 2019.
