REPORT : JJ Watt Accuses the NFL of “Stealing Money” After a Dubious Call and Fine

JJ Watt, a future Hall of Famer, is furious with the NFL this week.

The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year responded to a fine imposed on Detroit Lions running back Amon-Ra St. Brown on social media.

He quote-tweeted the footage and blasted the NFL for fining Amon-Ra St. Brown for what seemed like a routine block on a run attempt during last week’s game against the Chicago Bears.

“Here we go again. General rule of thumb: If you have to watch the video multiple times to try figuring out which person did something wrong and you still can’t figure it out, we probable shouldn’t be taking $43,709 from someone,” Watt posted on social media. “This.Is.Stealing.Money.”

Following this week’s largest fine assessment, St. Brown posted, “Nearly 5% of my salary. I’m  Hurting “. Brown paid a $43,709 fine. Although the wide receiver lowered his head in the contact, neither player was injured, and the play was not flagged.

St. Brown has 82 receptions for 993 yards and five touchdowns through 11 games. This season, the well-liked wideout is fifth in total receiving yards.
