The Seattle Seahawks lost their second game of the season to the San Francisco 49ers, which put them farther out of the postseason picture. Head coach Pete Carroll was quick to point out players who didn’t play well.

If the Seattle Seahawks were to have any chance of returning to the postseason, they practically “must-win” against the division foe San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

The 49ers, who were 10-3, became the first team in the league to secure a postseason berth with the 28-16 victory. In the meantime, the Seahawks, who have lost four straight, are 6-7 and fighting for their postseason survival.

Pete Carroll thrashes his team after poor result

Seattle lost both of their games against San Francisco this season, outscored 59-29. Pete Carroll, the coach of the Seahawks, was visibly angry on Sunday. Carroll even criticized Jamal Adams and Julian Love, two players he claims didn’t give their all on the field.

“Nothing new” from the 49ers offense, according to Carroll, and the Seattle defense was still at a loss for what to do. He said ,

“We gave it to them. Kittle in short yardage, in a play-action pass, their heavy personnel. He’s been doing that for his whole career,” “There was nothing new about those things. We didn’t execute well enough to stop those opportunities. That’s the stuff we practiced, and we needed to come through and make those plays. We didn’t do it.”

Carroll stated that he didn’t mind talking about Adams and Love after mentioning them by name. They are aware.

Seattle now has the ninth seed in the NFC and is gazing in from the outside of the playoff picture. With the top club receiving a first-round bye, the top seven teams advance to the postseason.
