Zach Wilson returned to the field on Sunday and probably saved his career as the New York Jets upset the Houston Texans, ending a five-game losing streak.
After failing to spark the New York Jets offense in the first half of the NFL season, Zach Wilson was benched. The team turned back to him on Sunday after two dreadful games without him, and he performed admirably.
With the Jets offense having finally found their rhythm, Wilson completed a season-high 301 yards of passing with two touchdowns as they crushed the Texans 30–6. This was an amazing effort because in their previous six games, New York had not scored more than 15 points.
Wilson’s girlfriend, Nicolette Dellano, reacted to his incredible performance on social media after the game.
She wrote, “Always proud of you two.”
Zach’s romance with Abbey Gile ended, and he has been dating Nicolette for almost a year.
Wilson’s passer rating of 117.9 at the end of the game was a career high. With 91 yards passing and just 10 of his 23 pass attempts completed, Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud was only able to get 135 total yards against the Jets defense on the day.
